Dan Simovic, CEO, Managing Director of TAMS Group

Dan Simovic possesses more than 20 years of Human Resources leadership experience in supporting core business initiatives, particularly in driving organizational change, reducing operational cost and improving individual and team productivity. Dan possesses strong expertise in organizational design, talent acquisition, succession planning, executive coaching, performance management, reward systems and employee engagement.  Most of his career has been devoted to supporting business leadership teams/executives in taking underperforming businesses and driving them to be best in class.

Dan’s industry experience includes technology, financial services and manufacturing. As Vice President (1997 to 2002), he managed Human Resources for National City’s Consumer Finance Division and all Corporate Staff Units. More recently (2007 to 2013) Dan managed Human Resources for PolyOne’s Distribution and Color Additives and Inks business platforms with combined revenues of $1.7 billion. He was also responsible for Corporate Recruiting, HR Programs and globally supporting manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, EH&S, operational excellence.

Dan earned a B.A., Political Science from Cleveland State University and a Master of Arts, Political Science from Kent State University.

The beginning of TAMS

Dan also founded Strategic Talent Consulting in 2002 as a way to support various organizations in meeting their business objectives. In the beginning the primary focus was finding top talent for his clients. In the ensuing years the consulting practice gradually expanded the solutions services for its clients.  In October 2013, Strategic Talent Consulting purchased the projects and consulting business assets from The Human Resources Department, Inc., a leading provider of cost effective HR solutions in the areas of compensation, compliance, talent management and employee relations. As a result, Strategic Talent Consulting rebranded itself as TAMS Group (Talent Acquisition & Management Solutions). The new brand simply reflects the two core services offered to the client base.

Sandy Turba, Director, Management Solutions

With her broad expertise in human resources, particularly compensation analysis, performance management, operations and HR program development, Sandy serves as our Director, Management Solutions.  She has developed HR processes and compensation structures in wholly owned subsidiaries, joint ventures and acquisitions and understands that an organization’s compensation philosophy and pay practices are critical to supporting the goals of the business.  Her industry experience is diverse as is the size of the organizations she has worked with.

Prior to joining us in 2007 Sandy enjoyed a successful eleven year career in human resources, initially with the Management Consulting practice of Ernst & Young U.S. and later with the Outsourcing Services Division of Capgemini, one of the world’s largest providers of consulting and outsourcing services worldwide.

Sandy holds a B.S. degree from Southern Illinois University.  She is a certified DDI facilitator and is qualified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

Aleksandar Rakic, Practice Leader, Compliance

Aleksandar’s primary focus is supporting clients in the area of human resources legal compliance, including organizations under the OFCCP mandates. Beyond compliance, Aleks provides support to general consulting project engagements, including compensation and total rewards.

Aleks received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from John Carroll University, where he finished first in his class among Finance graduates. During his college studies, he achieved membership to Beta Gamma Sigma, the International Honors Society recognizing excellence in business.

Upon graduation from John Carroll, Aleks worked as a field auditor for the Sherwin-Williams Company prior to being promoted to a division inventory analyst. From 2010 to 2013 Aleks attended Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and received his J.D., graduating magna cum laude and finishing in the top 15% of his class. He is admitted to the Ohio State Bar and is also admitted to practice law before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

Most recently, Aleks managed the Canton office of the law firm Borders and Gerace, LLC.

Peggy Grospitch, Practice Leader, Talent Management

Peggy Grospitch serves as Practice Leader, Talent Management. She is an experienced Organizational Development professional with expertise in leadership assessment, new leader assimilation, employee relations, performance and change management. During her twenty year career Peggy has developed an ability to assess and guide leaders to obtain optimal results for the organization.

Prior to joining TAMS Peggy was a Senior Human Resources Manager with a business segment of Curtiss-Wright. In that role, she was accountable for talent management, succession planning, organizational design/development, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives. Previously, with Lee Hecht Harrison, a talent solutions company, Peggy functioned as the sole Job Market Consultant and Change Management Consultant for the Cleveland Region in addition to working one-on-one with clients as a career coach.

Beyond her M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, from Radford University and B.A. in Psychology from The Ohio State University, Peggy is a Certified Coach: Lominger Voices 360 2014; Certified: Lominger Leadership Architect/Interview Architect 2012; Certified Trainer: Facilitative Leadership, Interaction Associates 2011; Certified Career Consultant, Lee Hecht Harrison 2009; Certified ChangeMap Facilitator, Lee Hecht Harrison 2009.

David Waldorf, Advisor, Compliance

As advisor to our compliance practice, Dave has supported numerous organizations in effectively meeting governmental and legal compliance requirements.  This has also included supporting responses to OFCCP audits in addition to investigating and responding to EEOC and state agency discrimination claims.  In recent years Dave has prepared hundreds of AAP’s for federal contractors and assisted them in meeting their compliance obligations including EEO-1 and Vets 100 reporting.  Our clients have come to appreciate the time and potential risk that Dave saves them as evidenced by our high customer retention rate and audit safe guarantee.

Prior to joining us in 1997 Dave was responsible for government compliance at Telxon Corporation in Akron and Reliance Electric Company in Cleveland.  Dave holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Purdue University in Industrial Relations and a J.D. degree from Cleveland-Marshall Law School, Cleveland, OH.

Kelly Callahan, Lead Consultant

Prior to joining us in 2013, Kelly gained five years of experience in human resources, initially with Norwalk Furniture Corporation where she focused on recruiting, employee benefits and union relations. Most recently, with PolyOne Corporation, Kelly managed recruiting projects, leadership development programs, provided generalist HR support for corporate client groups and completed special human resources projects.  Kelly holds a B.S. degree with a major in Human Resources, from Xavier University.

As Lead Consultant supports various client engagements throughout North America.

Lisa Lane, Lead Consultant

With a strong background in the core functional areas of human resources, Lisa has provided a variety of consulting services including the development of client salary grade/range structures, job market pricing, development of job descriptions, recruitment project management and design of employee handbooks.  Her client base includes organizations in manufacturing, healthcare, libraries and public/social service agencies.

Lisa’s previous experience includes ten years with Lake Hospital System as the Human Resources Director where she was responsible for compensation, recruitment, HRIS, job descriptions and employee relations.

Lisa earned her B.A. in Political Science from Bowling Green State University and her Master’s degree from Cleveland State University, where she specialized in Healthcare Administration.

John Bielinski, Lead Consultant

John Bielinski, Lead Consultant, has more than 25 years of experience in the design and implementation of domestic and international human resources programs, plans and initiatives.  His expertise includes the design and implementation of base pay, short and long-term incentive plans, health and welfare programs, and defined benefit and defined contribution plans.

Prior to joining TAMS Group, John managed global benefits for a $3 billion global manufacturer of tooling, engineered components and advanced materials, where he led the implementation of global benefits programs, and developed health and wellness program strategies in response to  health care reform and rising health care costs.  He also led due diligence initiatives for mergers and acquisitions activities.

John’s previous experience included the development of annual incentive programs and stock equity programs, redesign of sales incentive programs, and development of a long-term incentive cash compensation program designed to replace a former stock option plan for executives.  He also managed the compensation and benefits HRIS program analysis and implementation for a joint venture.  John has strong HRIS capabilities, including SAP and PeopleSoft Payroll systems.

John is a Certified Compensation Professional and Green Belt Certified in both Lean and Six Sigma.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Business Administration degree from Baldwin Wallace College.
